Killeen Maternity Photographer for Studio & Outdoor Portraits

Relaxed, Guided Maternity Portraits for Expecting Mothers

My Canvas Portraits is a Killeen maternity photographer offering relaxed studio and outdoor maternity photography for expecting mothers who want portraits that feel confident, personal, and true to them.

Pregnancy changes quickly, and it can be easy to miss this part of your story while you are focused on appointments, work, and preparing for your baby. A maternity session gives you time to slow down and create portraits of this stage before it passes.

You do not need to know how to pose or have every detail figured out before you arrive. I guide your hands, posture, body angles, expressions, and movement throughout the session.

Airbrush makeup and outfit-planning guidance are included. Most maternity sessions are photographed between 28 and 34 weeks, so I recommend contacting me around 20 to 24 weeks when possible.

I’m Michael Anthony, the Killeen maternity photographer behind My Canvas Portraits. I have spent the past 17 years photographing more than 350 families across Central Texas. Every portrait shown on this page is my original work. View the portfolio, review the pricing, and book when you are ready.

Maternity Photography Portfolio

Before you book a photographer, you should be able to see more than a few highlight images. The portfolio below shows real maternity photo shoots photographed by My Canvas Portraits.

You will see studio portraits, outdoor sessions, couples, children, military families, bold colors, softer looks, close-up details, and full-body poses. This gives you a clear idea of how I use lighting, posing, backgrounds, clothing, and professional retouching.

Your session should still look like you. You can send inspiration images so I can understand the mood, lighting, outfit, or pose you like. Then I use those ideas to create something that fits you instead of copying another session picture for picture.

Studio Maternity Photoshoot in Killeen

My Killeen studio is a strong choice when you want privacy, controlled lighting, clean backgrounds, bold colors, or a more polished look.

A studio session also removes concerns about heat, wind, rain, crowds, and long walking distances. This can make the experience easier when you are farther along or want a comfortable, private setting.

Outdoor maternity photography works well when you want trees, water, bridges, open fields, natural movement, or warm evening light.

Before choosing a location, we consider the weather, parking, walking distance, crowds, clothing, and your comfort.

I serve expecting mothers from Killeen, Fort Hood, Harker Heights, Belton, Temple, Copperas Cove, Salado, Austin, San Antonio, and nearby Central Texas communities.

Can We Use Both?

Yes. When timing, weather, and location make it practical, we can photograph part of your session in the studio and part outdoors.

We plan this before the session so you are not rushed or spending most of your appointment driving between locations.

You Will Be Guided From Start to Finish

Most clients are not professional models, and I do not expect you to know what to do in front of the camera.

I show you where to place your hands, how to angle your body, where to look, and how to move. When something feels uncomfortable or does not fit your body, clothing, or personality, I adjust it.

I also show you images during the session. This lets us check the lighting, clothing, posing, and overall direction while we can still make changes.

Partners and children can participate without an additional fee. We plan when they should arrive and which part of the session they will join so the photoshoot moves smoothly.

How Your Maternity Session Works

1. We Plan the Direction

We discuss the look you want, who will participate, whether you prefer studio, outdoor, or both, and which outfits or personal props you want to bring.

Once the direction is clear, we choose a makeup look that supports it.

2. You Receive Makeup and Guided Posing

Airbrush makeup is included in the $100 maternity session fee.

I review your outfits, guide you through every pose, and adjust the session around your comfort.

Most clients bring two or three outfits, depending on how far along they are and how many changes feel realistic. You bring your own clothing so the portraits reflect your personal style instead of using the same shared gowns for every client.

3. You View and Choose Your Portraits

You will see images during the session and complete a same-day viewing.

You only purchase the portraits you choose. The digital portraits you purchase receive natural professional retouching and are delivered the next day.
