First things first, let's figure out what "extra" means to you. Is it all about the eyes? Maybe it's about those dramatic eyelashes, a pop of glitter, or a bold lip. Whatever it is, identify what makes you feel the most fabulous and prioritize that.
For me, it's all about adding a little more drama to the eyes and lips. Today, I'm going to show you how to enhance these features with some definition and sparkle.
Elevating Your Eyes
Let's start with the eyes. Grab a palette and find a shade that looks perfect on you. I’m going with a deep blue shade for some added definition. Use a tiny brush to fit directly into your crease and start working that color in.
Remember, we’re going for a look that’s easy to replicate. No pre-planning here—just go with the flow. When adding more definition, focus on the depths of the creases in your eyes. Be gentle to avoid messing up your previous work. You can lay down extra powder or use tissue paper to catch any fallout.
Next, take a lighter shade to soften the line and transition into the brown already on your lid. Bring this shade a little higher into the crease to define and soften the transition between your dramatic look and your natural eye.
Keep your eyes open and look straight into the mirror while building and blending the colors. Add more of the same shade for extra drama and finish with some mascara.
Balancing the Look
Now that we have more definition on the eyes, let’s check the balance. With bold eyes and lips, we want to ensure the whites of the eyes aren’t getting lost. If you’re like me and struggle to see clearly without glasses, you might notice a bit of a blending superpower—it helps see colors, shapes, and values better.
To balance out the look, we need to lift and open the eyes more. A good lash can do wonders here. Instead of a cat-eye lash which emphasizes the outer corners, go for a rounder lash that’s longer in the middle to lift the center of your eyes, giving a more open effect.
Perfecting the Lashes
When lining up and trimming your eyelashes, ensure they fit your eyes perfectly. Check the tail end—if it starts to curve down or sideways, it’ll ruin the illusion. If they feel heavy or sag a bit, trim them. Don’t save them, trim them!
By making these small adjustments, you can enhance your signature look with a touch of extra flair, ensuring you feel confident and radiant every day.
